You plan to go fishing in a new area that you found on a map. You plot your course and use your compass to find the river. You fish upstream for a few hours and start walking back down river. After a little time you think you should be near the area that you plotted your way to and decide to check your compass to make sure your in approximatly the right area. It suddenly dawns on you that you put it down when going threw your bag to get your camera to take a picture of the fish you caught and you left it miles away! It is getting too dark to go back to look for it, and you decide that if you are to survive the night you have to stay put and try again the next day.

Supplies:
1 fishing rod (6 feet in lenght, 2 pieces)
1 fishing reel with approx 200 yards of line
1 pocket knife (one large blade one small)
1 35mm camera with a spare roll of film
your back pack that has a garbage bag in it (incase you caught and kept a fish)
5 extra fishing lures

The first night you spend in the woods it rains, causing the river to flood and wash away your compass; you never find it. Now with no sence of direction and a long hike back to civilization do you stay untill someone comes looking for you (lets say 5 days for arguments sake) or do you go with your gut and head towards what you think is civilization (remember you are in an area that youve only seen on a map and don't know where lakes/swamps are that could cause long delays in a walk out. You also do not know where the river you are fishing drains out to. Survive!!!

Again use the 3 stick shadow compass and go home even if you have to re-establish your bearing mark every morning (5-day)
