Twitch-Up Snare |
|
I have never built this type of snare but i thought it was worth sharing with you guys.
I am going to try it & i'll get pics & info on my luck with it when i can get a chance to build it.
(1) Tie small overhand loop knot in your para-cord, then fold the loop on itself to form Mickey Mouse ears & weave the tag end through the ears as illustrated.
(2) To build the twitch-up snare, use more para-cord to tie a spring pole or the branch of a small tree in tension.
(3) Set up a trigger mechanism like the one shown. When the animals head goes through the loop, the trigger is released, & it snatches the animals into the air, out of reach of other predators.

I've seen this before in a book.
Looks like it would work if you did it right.
You can bait it or put it on an animal trail.
Good post.

It looks like it would work but I think you could make 2 or 3 other snares with the same amount of materials it would take to make one of those.
