I liked it a lot. I see he finally decided to bring a person along with him. I suppose harmonica playing was a requirement for the person he picked. Laughing I liked that his GPS actually did fail him because of his fault. Makes that part real. Other than that I share the anguish in the other guys fishing luck. Laughing

I really liked that episode, one of my favorites by far.

By far my favorite episode of any season. I think this is because it's pretty much how I would end up lost. I don't hike or camp off of beaten down trails often but I certainly do go where the animals are. I like the fact that les pointed out that a lot of hunters don't know the propper way to snare... and it's true. Unless you have set up snares before you will go through a lot of wire before getting a good snare setup... and that is speaking from experience. Another thing I liked about this episode was the emphasis on a group of lost people pushing each other too hard, using up valuable energy with minimal gains, and burning daylight that is needed for gathering suplies for fire making and shelter building.
Was nice to see the use of search/rescue as well, but I wish that there could have been an interview (even a minute long) to find out what the mortality rate is for lost people who are not found in the first day...)

This was defonatly a great episode.

Not sure what thread it was in... but someone mention'd that the knife was a buck 119. Bob's defonatly was (if not it was a very close knockoff), but I can't tell what les's was.

loved it loved it loved it.....

yeah he had great info about getting lost and about how pride can come into play, so great funny scenes too with bob and him. oh yeah and the harmonica playing wow great, a little jam session out in the bush. oh I loved it when Les was searching for Bob and showed us how to find each other that was wonderful. SAR was great too. I was on the edge of my seat the whole show. thanks Les if you ever read this. Very Happy

Wow amazing episode, I gotta say it topped the arctic one. I also like this one because its my type of situation. Few people lost with hunting gear. I am not a hunter but I never go out into the wilderness without some form of hunting gear. Very entertaining and unique. Great episode I can only praise it.

I'm almost certain I saw one lying around sometime in the episode, but I didn't get a good look at either of their knives.

I'll watch it again to check. Cool

The best of Season 3! Very Happy

Very cool ep, I liked it because I will be living near areas very similar to that. It will be nice to have some wilderness nearby that isn't farm land Smile

Yeah, I clearly saw him using it a few times, and that was it. Obviously a good knife. Cool

I think part of Bob's problem was due to him using a huge hook when in a survival situation it is sometimes a lot better to have a smaller hook since you can't hook a small fish with such a big hook, but sometimes you can catch a "biggish" fish with a smaller hook. This is something Ray Mears has talked about (having a smaller hook).
