To be honest, stay away from smith&wesson knives, their just cheapo's that dont last long, in over all quality between S&W, Ontario and Ka-Bar, is in just that order, for close to the same price you can get a Ka-bar 1217 (usmc model) which is much better quality and made in the states. sirmailorder has them for $77 cdn, which isnt bad for canada, plus their great to deal with.

if you mean sirmailorder, yes. Just when you find something you want, the ka-bar for example, down at the bottom of the page, go to "quantity" and put in the # 1 (because you want one Wink ) then go to " order item"
then at the next page go to check out, and you'll need a credit card to order. The only other thing that might be easier to ya wuld to just call in and order.

It's my most used knife and I like it a lot but it might take a back seat to my TAK-1 when it gets here:

I have a Ka-bar 8" tanto, personally I like it more than the normal model (1217) but its up to you, same materials used, except for the handle on mine, thats kraton as the 1217 is stacked leather.

I love my tanto, some times I take that in stead of my BK7. Shocked Laughing

Ohh, and I've beat the hell outa my Ka-bar, I know the have a "stick" tang, but when used right, it doesn't matter, really great knife. I did however reprofile the edge, from 20* to about 15*, make for a much better slicer, but the factory edge would work fine for a hard use knife.

Btw, the version Turd has also is an excellent hard use knife, its no surprise his hasent broken yet, very stout and robust knife.
