Figure Four Deadfall

This trap is great device because you can catch a lot with minimal work.

Its simple to make and dosent require much bait.

Its mostly in the summer, spring, fall, (no snow).

there's the url to the one i made on the beach this summer when working. the beach was closed so it's not like anyone was swimming so we got bored. My friend eric trips the trap which crushes the bottle.

I am actually going to practice making these. I would have to run into problems when I really needed the thing to work! I want to be able to whip out a working one in no time!!!

While at my lot I had to think out of the box because there are NO rocks there, yeah its weird.

So i used an old log, and the thing works pretty good. Cool

I was thinking that a dead fall with a log would work for bigger game!

Troup. your method is fine for deer. Just needs modification. Make it bigger, and make it a figure 4 speer dead fall. I'l get a pic of what i'm talking about. Maby i'm thinking a different trap.

hrm, this is a modified tripwire trap. WARNING. If you make this and mess up it will become a person trap!

then attach the spears to the log in the tree.

For larger game Deadfalls work exellent, however you have to be careful and remember where you hit then or it can be quite nasty

however im talking about the hole in the ground Deadfall, not the falling object one

I made a figure-four deadfall out of popsicle sticks. Very Happy
Starting out small worked for me. Very Happy I used a heavy book substituted for the rock. Smile

Then I made a larger one that supported an 8" by 16" brick. Cool

Never caught anything though. Embarassed

Here's one I knocked together for fun a few months ago. Probably your best chance of getting meat in a survival situation.
