i use a fieldline camo back pack. Has one large section and one small section. Also has a mesh pocket. One of the straps clips on and the other is just strapped on, that way you can have your straps tight and still get the thing on/off without adjusting the tightness.

I have a roots 50 litre bag that I used all the time. 1.5 litre Hydration bag.

I've changed my ways lately and I'm trying to switch to an ultra-lite style. So I'm experimenting with a department store book bag thing and various Army surplus ALICE gear configurations. I haven't found a winning solution yet though.

I also have 2 of the old alum. frame "World Famous" backpacks. Not very comfertable but light enought for ultra-light camping.

I use a big Woods hiking bag.

Hows it is 2 bags in one, its ahuge backpack that has a small one you can staff on. I ushally just take the small bag becuase it is good enough, but when I got camping or something I take the full thing.

heres a pic of it again:

I use an Asolo bag that looks devilishly close to DDave's second bag, only it is grey and it's called "Camel" Laughing

BTT Wink

I mostly used military surplus for my survival pack, bug out bag, get home bag, ect. But after doing some minor pack hiking around my urban neighborhood to make sure it rode well, I didn't like the looks I got while wearing it. Something about an old camo medium ALICE pack bulging with gear doesn't sit right with people. So I made the move to more civilian style packs that could still get the job done with out looking like the next uni-bomber. What I found was the CamelBak Talon. It's perfect for packing full of gear, and it rides very nice. But it was $140 or more. Sad I hate spending that kind of money on gear I may only use a few times. But I got lucky and saw that Botach Tactical had the same pack but "BlackWater" Edition for $75 shipped. I snagged one, and got it a couple days later. I love this pack so far!

I use a Jansport Carson 90 external frame pack (Partially because I am quite tall. It would not fit well on someone under 5' 10" I imagine). I've seen a lot of negative reviews saying the construction is weak, but I've mauled this pack over the years and never had anything come apart at all. For longer trips it is nice, since it has an enormous carrying capacity. You have to leave room for food and that isn't terribly difficult with all the space. It is a bit large for short trips though. I used it for an 11 day 85 mile hike through philmont scout camp in New Mexico and I had no issues with the pack at all....Except people wanted me to carry more gear...which I absolutely refused to do except when one kid was worn out and falling behind. You need to adjust it and pack it correctly or it will move around on your back and be extremely uncomfortable. I like that the front panel unzips entirely which makes access to all your gear rather simple and you don't have to dig around.

Ive got this except in blue.

It holds everything I need to camp plus some stuff that my gf needs. I just got it a week ago but it holds everything fine and its nice and comfortable. If I was an inch or 2 taller this bag might be a bit to small though.
