LOL

I should mention my husband's name is Dave....and his bike is a major, major POS. I doubt anyone would steal it if we put a sign on it to take for free.

> Ah ,..... its all coming clear to me now Steph Cool Wink when ya buy a new one just give the old one to Salvation Army or something ?. I did that with my old bike. It wasn't worth diddly, so someone with no bike could have something to ride.

Well, I did ride a bike when I was a kid too. One of those banana seat bikes. :lol With a basket on the front. Actually, I still have a scar on my leg from when I wiped out on that bike and somehow gouged my leg on the buckle to the basket when I flipped over the handlebars.

For serious riding, I'd say since junior high/high school age. When I was in my 20's I used to just keep my bike in my car (next to my fishing pole) and go riding after work sort of thing. I'll admit I didn't ride as much this summer, mostly because I didn't feel like lugging the bike trailer behind me...it left me too winded. My doctor told me yesterday I have asthma now, so that explains it. From my stupid allergies. Sad

> well, i dont really ever retire it for the winter. We can get 5 days strait of sunny cool weather & i enjoy riding in it. Its been crappy weather here the last month, so haven't been on it at all. So, clean it up take it out for a short pedal Cool

I've got to get some metal pedals for mine. I bought some new plastic ones because the old ones were starting to show some wear. After a month, the right pedal broke. Bell (the manufacturer) sent me a replacement pair. The new right pedal broke completely off within two weeks. The most stressed part of the pedal is where the thinnest plastic is. Bad design, really. The half-broken old one is still better than the new ones!

I need to get some metal one that won't ever break. Riding it everyday puts some wear on it. Cool

They make aluminum one now for around $ 25 to $ 35 i bought " Moo Pedals " for mine in 2004 & there still on and work great. And ive wiped out several times hitting the pedals, smashing them etc Cool There what is called a " platform pedal "

Yeah, I bought some right before I left town coming home. They weren't metal (the only metal ones they had were 9/16", I need 1/2"), but they are pretty good. They are resin instead of plastic. They're pretty sturdy. A LOT sturdier than those cheap Bell ones I had.
