Post REVIEW: Maxpedtion Monkey Admin and Tactical Taylor Mini Mav Reply with quote
Hey guys,

So, for a little while now, I've been looking for a way to carry my essentials, without having to load my belt up while in the field. Some that that I can access easily, and just have right there when I need it. Of course, a vest of some type comes to mind. Now, I have an older one kicking around, but it was just too big for what I needed.

So, over onto bladeforums I went insearch of someone who had close to what I was looking for, and I wanted to pick their brain for info on the Mini Mav plate from Tactical Taylor. Its just a molle plate that can carry what ever you can think up, anyways, I was talking with a friend and he said he would just send one my way free of charge.

FWIW, last time he sent me something at a deal, it was packed with extra's, so I was damn excited this time too. Anyways, got the package and this is what I found. The only things that were mine were the firestarter, tk-10 in the pouch, and the AMK kit.

Everything else was sent, the monkey admin, mini mav and the rest of the gear, So I was estatic to say the least. Laughing

Here are some pic's

I was just staring at it all, wonder how I was going to pack the thing, which ways I was going to wear it, and what I wanted to stick on the front. Then I took the sharkie and started hitting things with it, just to see how tuff it was. Looked at the Ka-bar, still in shock, it hadn't settled in yet that I received all this gear FOR FREE!!!

ugh, awesome.....

Anyways, I owe Bushman from bladeforums a HUGE thanks, It interesting, because everytime I get a wish list going, he ends up giving me a ridiculous deal, or even better.

I now nickname him SANTA.Very Happy

Anyways, on to the pics and review.

First up, The maxpedition Monkey admin pouch, and TT mini Mav.
When I first started handling the stuff, I was very impressed with the F&F of it all. The Max was typical, great work on it. everything matched up nice, built like a tank ta-boot.

The TT mini mav was also a worthy addition. I have never owned anything from them, but I have been wanting to try something from them for a while now, and I was impressed. F&F also nice, wasn't oddly shaped or anything wrong with it. The Molle webbing was sewed on well, and I think it will last for a while.

Now for some pics.

This is the furthest back pocket:

The main pocket, light, sharkie, sharpener, main use stuff. This pocket has two bands sewed in on the front, and back panel of the pocket. It just organizes things like the lights, sharkie and what not.:

Next is it the middle pouch, it has velcrow at the top to keep the contents in. Its a nice feature, I keep my Spare cr's in there:

The next pouch, just as the last three are all the depth of the kit that you see. In this one, I just have a garbage bag, but im just filling the pockets for pics:

In the last pocket, which is half the depth of the rest, I have some duct tape:

Of course, the outside has some stretch material, great for glow sticks:

And, if carries exactly the way I wanted it too.

Now, I had to get the ka-bar out and try it some. I am pleased with this little guy as well, decent edge work, sheath fits well, no rattle overall a nice little package.

It's very form fitting, which I like. Has plenty'o carry options, even had it rigged up to the mini mav for a while. Its a little small in my sausage fingers, but im NOT complaining, again, overall very impressed with it.

Just another glory shot.

The maxpedition is better than I had thought, it fits great, and holds all the gear I need, the TT also makes it very easy to attach what ever I want, where I want it. Got my basics taken care of, which is all I need for me while in the woods, or cruising the city like wise.

While the kit has changed some sense thes pics have been taking, the premis is still the same of the kit. I just have the amk kit in a Maxpedition Cocoon pouch.

All in all, Im super impressed with it, what do you guys think, worthy edc and PSK? Laughing

Sure. Cool

I think it looks great! Very Happy

Does this mean you might be willing to part with your Lunada for little while? Surprised I like free gear, too. Mr. Green (hint, hint) I don't really have anything good to trade for it, so it would just be a borrowing kind of thing. Smile

But that aside, looks like you just landed another great piece of gear. Cool

Score!! Surprised
