You didn't miss much.

Although it was pretty funny to see Will make fun of Bear to his face. Laughing

Wasn't really worth the time it took to watch it, but I was slightly entertained.

I think Will had a good time even if it was hard for him.
I mean to get away from cameras, paparazzis and stuff.
Just to be a "normal" human being, having fun.
Very Happy
BTW, I did part of my military training close to where they shot this episode. It was called the Ice march. Cool

Will Ferrell's wife is from Sweden and he has gone there each summer for the last few years. So it was likely sort of familiar to him. Except for being with Bear Gryll.

It seems there is another new season of "Man vs Wild". Rolling Eyes
Here in Canada, Discovery is airing a new episode at 9:00 tonight. Bear will be in Alabama. I guess he'll show us how to survive being kicked by a horse, crashing a bike with a blown tire, and how to collect eggs from wild fowl and crack them with one hand. Twisted Evil Wink Laughing

Well, from what I've read on other forums, it was one of the worst episodes to date.

He's there in the winter, then, as he's RAFTING DOWN A FREAKING, ICE COLD RIVER, he warns about the alligators that might be lurking about.

bwahahahahaha

I didn't know he was starting a comedy hour. Rolling Eyes

some guy from another forum wrote:
I mean really. The guy goes to Desoto State Park, has a helicopter drop him in the "wilds" and then points out that he has to go downstream to get to civilization. Wonder why he didn't just walk over to the road?

He shinneys down an 80' tree to get to the river. Of course he could have taken a nice trail down like we have, but that would be too easy.

Rather than go along the banks, he decides to raft down what to him would be an uncharted river. Gee, considering the MAJOR falls on that river, that is a bright move. <NOT>

Then he comments about the ice in the river in one segment, and is worried about water moccasins in the next. Water Moccasins? In winter? Do they wear little ski parkas without arms?

It gets even better when he obsesses over the possibility of meeting up with an alligator. An ALLIGATOR in DeSoto State Park??? In WINTER? He stands a better chance of coming across Dolly Parton skinny dipping.

When he finds the boar left in a snare, he jumps at it. Literally. I guess his cave man ancestors never taught him about using sticks and stones from a safe distance?

Then he goes into a cave to eat a cricket. Shoot, he could graze my back lawn if he is that hungry. Then he eats deer dung. At least now I know what he has for brains...

When he gets to the paved road, he runs and jumps at a log truck, latching on to a log in the back. Gee, when he is hanging off a log and the truck gets on I-59, that'll be fun.

I think our backwoods rednecks are rocket scientists compared to this fellow.

I admit it, I watched the episode. Embarassed
It was typical Bear Grylls. The jump from a helicopter. (This time onto rock, not water) The running, the climbing, the falling into an icy river fully dressed and not building a fire to dry his clothes when he got out. The too few valid survival tips. Some great scenery. That scene with the boar seemed set up. What are the chances it would end up tethered to a nearby tree after springing a snare? I'm surprised that it didn't occur to BG that he could walk in circles around the tree, taunting the pig to follow him, until all the excess cord was wound around the tree and the pig was essentially immobilized. Of course, then we would not have had the part where the boar lunged at his crotch. Laughing
Bear never let us forget that he was 'playing injured', having broken his shoulder in the Antarctic just weeks before. Crying or Very sad

You must have missed the commentary where he told that his trap didn't catch anything, but that a pig was left for him to show how to deal with it (or get his balls chomped off. Twisted Evil Laughing Laughing).
