What do you fish for?

Largemouth, smallmouth cats, trout, panfish, stripers I like it all

gonna try for some carp today i tried this particular area probably a 1000 times since i was old enough to drive have not caught one yet caught a couple of pike at the river mouth but still no carp not even sure why i even want to catch one except now its a personal thing and i'm kinda stubborn i refuse to give in to a fish

I used to fish for bream a lot when I was younger, but I haven't been in a while. That was fun. Now when I go, it's mostly for bass. Cool

This year im going to be targeting Dolly Varden up in the Skagit Valley area.
These are good fighters, & large fish. Averag weight is around 3 to 4 lbs.
But can get up to 8lbs Surprised

They like to be deep in the river where the water is calm. So imust use sink line to get to them.
Should be a good challenge Cool

went fly fishing for the first time on monday i have never done it before but i bought a cheap combo at canadian tire on friday tried it a few times just to get the feel of it so i went out lost half a dozen flies caught no fish man do i need practice.i was able to get the fly about 10' out in the water but i was making a lot of ripples landing the fly think that was part of the problem, oh incidently i was fishing for trout in a small stocked pond.next time going for pike

its a great sport. Dont let the first few times get ya down. I still lose flys that get caught on branches etc.
And the casting isnt all that tough, make sure you have at least 2 rod lengths of float line out on the ground.
What you want to do is " load up " the rod with line as you back cast & go forward. Keep your casting arm strait out casting & over your head on the back cast, that will help you from putting the line on the ground, & it gets your rod loaded so you can cast more line. Once you get that " feel " it gets easyer every time you cast. Ask me anything if you like, & i'll try to help ya out Cool

going to lake diefenbaker today,fishing for walleye mostly but will take anything i can get lake has many different species including rainbow trout lake trout pike walleye goldeye sauger even heard reports of sturgeon although i have never seen one myself and i think it is illegal to target them

I just got in from a nice day of fishing myself.
In total caught 13 Trout, was awesome, found 3 very nice holding areas.
And i had the right fly tied, they went nuts. Smile

well all in all decent day caught about a dozen walleye and one goldeye between 3 of us(that being my fatherinlaw and my wifes nephew and me)but havent really done much fishing on that area of diefenbaker lake so i learned some sweet spots right off my wifes uncles farm which is right on shore.it evn has a nice little bay at the end of the pasture that cannot be accessed unless your allowed on the property so its clean free of shore garbage ETC.already making plans for an overnight trip @the end of august beginning of september.sadly i forgot to take pictures for evryone this time guys so they will have to wait until sept, sorry all
