Someone try striking one of those with the blade from a hacksaw, jigsaw, or disposable knife. Twisted Evil
You might need to put on sunglasses Cool and have a fire extinguisher handy.

They came in the mail today! I love these things they are incredible. The duration of combustion is amazing. Unlike a firesteel which lasts about 500ths of a second these ones last up to 1.5 seconds. Plenty of time to ignite your tinder

So far I will tell you this. They are better than the standard firesteel for a number of reasons.

1- they dont wear down as fast becaue you dont need to use as much pressure when in use
2- The compostion of iron and magnisum really gives you more time to start your fire.
3- You can use it while standing up!

Hey the shipping was something like 6 bucks. If you go thre and add everything you want to cart it shows u how much it costs and everything.

I bought the 4 inch one. The one they recomend. ITs awesome

I got mine about a week ago and I'm in love! The half inch throws noticably fatter sparks than the 3/8", but the 1/2" is significantly heavier, so it's the 3/8"x5" that'll be coming with me on trips, and the 1/2"x4" that I'll be using for fun.

I use the back of my leatherman's sawblade as a striker and if I aim upward and strike hard on the 1/2", I can launch globs of flaming metal 10 feet away that scatter when they hit the concrete. Seriously overkill, but damn fun.

If you use your striker and pull toward you with your hand on a firm surface, you can peel curls of the metal off. Pile these up and throw some sparks at them for fire starting that kicks the pants off magnesium. The burn lasts a long time.
