I'm weird because I have a German Army Jacket yup, I know, here it is, I removed the German Flags though so people wouldn't suspect I'm some guy part of a German Recon Team Shocked Laughing

Oh yea, don't mind the mess or the Russian Helmet (Hey it's college Wink)

But it's actually very thick and breathable, and heavy yet easy to move in

Nice jacket, I wear a USAF one that pretty similar, just in a lot rougher shape and still has all the markings on it Smile

I'm old, I still remember down and wool!

In fact, I still wear down and wool!

Back in college I was a fan of the U.S. army field jackets. They were warm and cheap and all I could afford. Did a good job for the price. I still like them but They look a bit out of place on a grizzly codger like me.

I bought a down jacket from Cabellas about 10 years back and I am still using it. It still keeps me warm until the car heater kicks in. It is almost too hot above F35-40 degrees.

Got a couple of wool coats I use on a lot of my camping trips. They are tough as nails and do the job. I have a canvas shell that I can wear over them in a rain.

Not if you put badges on them that show you're a General. Laughing

I mostly wear a 3-in-1 Columbia jacket. I also have a down parka, but it's not often cold enough to wear it. Sort of like the snowboarder pants I wear for clearing snow. They are too hot unless it's at least -10c.

This is my favourite winter jacket, it's called a Buffalo Special 6 shirt and was designed for the special forces etc in England.Though not classed as waterproof I never get wet in normal rain and have only got slightly damp when in torrential downpours and I think that was where is managed to get in where the hood attaches to the shirt. They are designed to be warm even when totally submerged, they dry super fast are are totally breathable.

Check them out at www.buffalosystems.co.uk
