That would make a sharp looking knife. (no pun intended Laughing )

Thanks Fonly.
Tried it & it turned out not too bad.

I started off with this Helle Eggen:

Decided while I was dropping the point,I may as well reshape the handle too:

Took a torch to the handle to get some color in it.
Ended up with this:

I might take the tip down a little more, but I want to use it some before I do that.

Went for a hike today on one of my favorite trails & guess what I found laying across the trail...

Must have come down during the ice/wind storm we had here a few weeks ago. Looked like it was around 40 feet tall when it was standing.

Good thing I had some tools with me:

I got a nice pile of firewood stashed at the area that I stop at & in a month or so the wood should be dry enough to burn.

I don't carry a hatchet or folding saw for day hikes, but more than once I've used the wood saw on my SAK to remove branches from a tree fallen across a trail so I can get over it. I'm thinking of getting a good folding saw.

Had most of the family here for Easter & afterwards we decided to go for a hike:

Stopped at a little pond in the field for a break;

Found a cool deer skull that Lexi wanted:

We decided to just put it on a stick & take a picture instead of her taking it home:

Emily found more of it,but wasn't real sure about getting too close to it:

Then we did a little salamander huntin':

Turned out to be a real nice hike.

Everyone else was busy today,so I headed out for a solo hike.
Across the river form Newport KY. is a view of Great American Ballpark, home of the Reds:

Watched this lonely guy for awhile:

Tossed some crumbs to the geese & started a big fight Twisted Evil :

These folks were enjoying themselves:

Went south & followed the Licking river to the wilderness for the knife shot:

Had a nice 4 hour trek :

That's one of the BB River Boats that you can take for a nice ride up & down the Ohio river.
There are quite a few of them there.
Here are some from last summer:

Across the river in this pic you can see the Showboat Majestic where they have music & different kinds of entertainment. That's downtown Cincinnati in the background:

Once or twice a year,we're lucky enough to have the Delta Queen docked here near the ballpark. Now THAT's a big boat Cool .

The Riverside districts of Cincinnati,Newport Ky.& Covington Ky. are some of my favorite hiking spots.
There's always something interesting to see.
Sometimes I have to get my wife & girls to slow down & look around at stuff when we're out hiking instead of just waliking along for the exercise.
