i really like it here too. I dont' see why if les has his site open why that can't be strictly about the show with a link to here for all things survival. Like have his as 3 sections : questions for les, season 1 discussion, season 2 discussion, etc...

True. also it would take a lot of work for Les to get a new community built up, one that works properly and is functioning well. It took the forum it get running like 3 months before it was popular. And even longer working well.

I really don't see Les ever opening up the Survivorman forum in the same way as it was. Swede made a post over on Wild Survive that explained alot of what went on, and some of the things that will probably be omitted if the old forum reopens. No campfire, no firearms/hunting, etc. I hope that it will reopen to at least allow the question/answer thread to operate, but whatever happens, I won't want to give up Arctic Cove or Wild Survive.

Doug may say that the Wild Survive forum members are traitors, but at the time where else could we go? Did he expect that there would be no hard feelings when the plug was pulled so suddenly? I had a time myself when I took Les' boot to the seat of our pants personally, too. I'm over it now and I see Les' position gave him no choice but to shut down for the time being. Everything over there has his name on it. I think that the most of the other Stroudies (not all) have gotten over the shock and feeling of betrayal they at first felt. Once the truth of the matter came out, most everyone saw that it took Wendy's ex to cause all that trouble based on a very few posts. The number of moderators we had was probably insufficient to monitor a forum, and truthfully a couple of things may have been allowed to slide by that shouldn't have.

If the Survivorman forum reopens, yeah, I'll visit. But I still think that this forum will be better for general survival discussion and community.

Well I will take that as a compliment to the site being a success. But I also agree it wont be the same. My idea of this site is the same as it was when I forged it. A site to talk about survival and survivorman, whatever happended happend, but nevertheless I am, and always have been, a suporter of survivorman.

The forum is confirmed. It will be back up with old the old posts included. It is being cleaned from pointless posts right now. Not sure when it will be back but Woodsman will be the primary site leader, and there will be a few mods.

I'm happy here, but of course I'll check out the revived Survivorman boards. Since the old posts will still be there, I assume the thread topics will be mostly the same as before. It will be interesting to see how much traffic it gets, since many of the previous denizens have settled in elsewhere.

Well, I'm glad to hear it. I'll be checking it out as soon as it's ready to go, but I'm not abandoning this forum unless Troop decides to shut it down.

I noticed that Les' site no longer even has a "Forums" link on it. I am curious why he chose Woodsman to head the board. Nothing against Woods, but as the last Admin/Mod, he allowed the board to degrade to the point where Les felt it necessary to shut it down...

I can see why Les wants it back up though, with season 2 about to air, all of those new fans will be looking to go somewhere. And why not go right to Les' own site...

I will be visiting both sites, but i have a feeling the majority of my posting will be done here. It's good to know that the wealth of information we all posted over there was not lost...

Indeed, I will not allow all this info to be lost. When I have time during May I plan to collect all the good info and archive it.

If once day I ever wanted to make a good survival site I could add this in since its really good stuff
