Here’s a little trick that could be applied to snake/bug bites and other things requiring a vacuum to draw out poisons, pop zits, etc.

You take a bottle and heat it up. Put the opening over the area requiring care and as it cools it will create a vacuum.

I think a narrow mouth glass bottle would work best because of the glass's ability to hold heat but an aluminum bottle such as a camp stove’s fuel bottle would work and maybe even a soda can.

It would probably be best to heat the bottle in boiling water so it wouldn’t get to hot or break but you could slowly warm it next to a fire.

A guy at work had an abscess (a.k.a. boil, big zit) and didn’t want to pay the doctor the $300-$400 it cost to have it lanced. Another guy who has dealt with several recommended this technique and I thought that it could easily replace a snake bite kit in an emergency and be applied to other things as well.

I don’t plan on getting snake bit anytime soon so anyone who uses it let us know how well it works. If you’re still alive that is. Wink
