Post Grandfathers Old Folding Knife Reply with quote

My grandfather just passed away a couple months ago. Well my grandma found one of his knives and gave it to me. I love this thing. Its blade is only about 2 1/2 inches long so it can't be used for tons of things but I love it! It is just a general use indoor knife right now. I don't want to take it out because if I lost it I would be mortified.

Well, this is one I am NOT going to loose. It is my new favorite. It will mostly see indoor use, but I may take it outside as long as I have a good sheath. I am thinking about getting it engraved but I dont know what to put on it.

I think the smaller buck 110 is called the Buck 112 but I'm not too certain... Confused Good idea about getting the sheath to go with it, never want to loose such a precious item like that Very Happy

That is defoantly the most popular folding knife style out there. There must be 50 or more knife makers (some good some bad) that made it. I know I bought an "old timer" by schrade knives, and it looked the exact same next to my buck 110 (aside from it being labeled an old timer and mine having buck 110 on the blade near the handle. You should look it over to see if you can find anything on it that could give you a hint as to where it was made.

My Neighbor gave me a knife (he's about 85 years old) and it is one of my favorites. I don't use it very much, and when i do it's nthing heavy... but it's more about the history of the knife that I like. Thanks for sharing sk.

EDIT: Here a pick of the buck 110 (59.99 at Canadian Tire) and a cheeper modle that looks similar (9.99 at Canadian tire).

That's a neat little knife, SK. Very Happy

My advice for future gear pics: use a more smooth surface like a table. It uploads faster. Smile

Carpet is really detailed and takes longer. Smile
