What kind of fishing rod do you like best?

And what brand?

I just have one crappy old rod i'm not too sure what its called but it works fine so thats all that counts. I say as long as the reel is good thats whats important.

I have many rods, i have a shakespear "ugly stick" that is a light action rod. It is fun for small fish. I have a medium action shakespear and a medium action berkly, i like the berkly more than the shakespear but both are good rods. I just bought a shakespear telescopic rod, i'l let eya know what i think of it once i use it. The shakespear rods are relitevly inexpensive, ranging from 24.99-35.99 (out of the ones i have). The berkley was more expensive but still wasn't too bad, not sure how much but i am pretty sure it was around 60. I have a wide variety of reel's that run from as little as 20 dollers each to over 200. I prefer the cheeper ones. I find my diawa is too picky and always have had problems with it (the $200 one). A proper drag and line setup, with a decent reel mounted on pretty much any rod will work great.

My rod isnt telescopic which kinda sucks because its a pain putting them together and taking them apart. So my next rod will defently be telescopic

all of mine, aside from my new one, are 2 section rods. They range from 5 feet to 6.5 feet in length.

I have a Dragon Fly, fly rod. 9' 6 weight. 2 piece
A Diawa 6' spin caster
A Berkly 7' spin caster my favorite & a spiderco reel really smooth casting.
And a Zebco 6' spin caster a cheaper rod, but a great back-up if someone wants to go fishing with ya & doesn't have a rod. Cool And i can't get into all my gear, it would take me an hour to type it all out Shocked

9 foot fly rod, is your arm 2-3 inches longer at the end of the season from casting that thing? Me and dad have a range from 6 foot to 9 foot fly rods as well. Mind you, im not very good at it.

I have an Ugly Stik that I bought when they first came out (Yeh, a looonng time ago) that thing still rocks!!! I tend to buy mostly Shakespear stuff as it seems highest quality/dollar spent...

I have a ton of stuff at my parents house, I will have to go and get it - Collapsing rods, ultralight stuff, etc...

I disagree, the rod is a big part of the play of your lure, your chance of landing a fish and your casting accuracy.

I've got a decent Spiderwire & Uglystik rod, but like Trooper said, if it works, it works. Cool

Shakespeare and St. Croix make good rods. The also both have warentees, Shakespeare's are generally longer warentees, but also more expensive. So for a quality fishing pole check both of those brands out.

I just have a Zebco spinning reel/ rod combo. Nothing fancy, nothing expensive, but it lets me fish. Cool
