9V battery and steel wool |
|
This is one of the easiest ways i have ever started a fire. All you do is touch the battery to the steel wool and BOOM you got a fire ready if you put some tinder on it.

my suggestion if your carry'n this in your pack as a firestarter is to put electrical tape over the positive and negative prongs on the battery to prevent your steel wool cathing your back pack on fire.

Relying on batteries is something I do try to avoid. If you are going to do it, you best make sure you check that battery often...
