Oh, I see.
The Mini-Grip I was going to get is D2 steel.
I use my Leatherman E304X everyday, but I only have to sharpen it every few months(it's 154CM). I guess that would mean the D2 steel would stay sharp a whole lot longer, but just be a little(or a lot) harder to sharpen.
The only reason I haven't bought one yet and replaced my Leatherman is because I love the Blade Launcher on it.
What were we talking about? Oh yes, fixed blades.

Didn't know that Benchmade used D2 for any of their blades
But if you do find one,it should hold an edge for awhile.

I'm afraid to do that. It can get expensive & I still have a couple more Scandi's to buy .
I'm kinda hooked on either convex or Scandi grinds right now.
They're just so darned sharp!!!

No problem.
I would get one, but I have other things to spend money on right now.
If I got it, it would just be a "want", not a "need".
Let us know how it is.

Well I went to sportsmans warehouse again, and you know what that means. It means I bought something. Aside from my fishing tackle I bought the Coldsteel spike. It'll be my boat knife. I just love how skinny it is, and it'll make a good filet knife too.

Sorry it took so long, but I have pictures now.
This one compares size with my Coldsteel SRK, and Leatherman tti.
This is the SRK. It's a 6" blade.
This is the Spike. It's a 4" blade, and it has about a 1/4" spine which is really thick.
Here's the spike around my neck. Now I have the chain woven in to the 3rd pair of eyelets, because it's a really long chain.

Only about $23, probably because it's made out of stainless steel. It looks beautiful, but it gets scratched up real easy. Even the sheath makes scratch marks. Aside from that you're not going to find many knifes that look like the spike.

What exactly would you use such a tiny knife for? Skinning a chipmunk?

You dont need a big kinfe to skin anything. Ive seen guys skin Deer with folding pocket knifes.
In this case. size doesn't matter.
