well, its the sharpend prybar side of knives, but its a good havey user, I would think something like a tramontina would suffice. considering what you gonna use it for,
what are you gonna use it for?

Bushwhacking and cleaning the brush off of horse trails when I ride.
Do you have any machetes, Fonly?

I do, well did i guess still do but im back out west and there back east. I have two tramontinas and a few cheapies, all from carbon and very thin, and they work great.
I would think a ontario field machete would be better. I think its the camper model 12" blade, mabye something else to look into.
One beside the trail hawk is the style im talking about.

I used one almost exactly like that one the last time I had to bushwhack. It belonged to a friend, and I didn't like the way it felt in my hand at all. The balance was all wrong for me.
The ones like yours just don't suit my taste.
The SPEC is exactly what I was hoping to find.
What is a tramotina, by the way?

Tramontina is the brand name of the company that makes those.
They also make decent kitchen utensils & cookware.
Their machetes are pretty decent too,but they're way different than the Ontario that you're looking at getting.
Not better...not worse...just different.
Pick the one that will serve your purpose.

Sorry...no pic.
Ever since the Zombies left town there's nothing around here that would require a machete
If I'm correct, they look an awful lot like the one pictured above with the cord wrapped handle.

Too bad.
I Googled it and that basic design is what I saw.
Not what I'm looking for.

I thought about getting the spec plus machete before. I don't think there would be anything wrong with it, but I have heard bad things about Ontario though. They're supposed to make really bad pistol clips. I bought the coldsteel Kukhri machete, and for the money you can't beat it. It's about $25, and I know the one you're looking at is more like $40-$50. That's just my 2 cents.
