It would be great to put in a pack, but only be good for small game. I have heard some people say they hate them and some love them. If you are looking for more of a survival gun I would go elsewares. If you are looking for a little pack gun for emergency small game then this should work well. If you are looking for bigger game than a rabbit, then I would say go for a shotgun or a high caliber rifle, as both can be used to self deffence also.
