- Balsam Gum : Cuts & wounds, The gum of the balsam tree was used on cuts and wounds. This gum soothed the cuts and covered them to keep out foreign substance. > I will add to this post. Cool

Yarrow, Achillea millefolium

The flowers and leaves were dried and used as cold remedies. The fresh leaves can be rubbed on the skin as a temporary insect repelllent. It smells like mothballs. It is also used as a styptic, (a plant used to stop bleeding when applied to wounds. It is named after Achilles, who claimed to have saved many soldiers by appling it to their wounds.

WARNING! May cause dermititis if your skin is sensitive to it. The plant contains thujone, which is toxic if consumed in large quantities over an extended period.

I'll add to this later.

White ash works surprisingly well to calm an upset stomache or nausea. Charcoal induces vomiting if necessary.

Thujone is the active ingredient in absinthe... natural cure for boredom? Laughing

That is a great tip, but you have to be careful when not using medical grade charcoal. A lot of the grilling charcoal has lighter fluid in it, which can just make matters worse...
