What's your favorite SAK? |
|
Hi everyone:
I'm hoping to get some thoughts about your favorite SAK features/models.
With so many different models being produced,it can be a little hard to decide which one to get.
Some of the tools on these have limited use in the field, but come in handy around the house. For instance the bottle opener...Haven't used that one at all yet,but the screwdrivers get alot of use.
I like to keep the smaller blades razor sharp & reserved for the things that require a razor sharp blade. The awl comes in handy for things like drilling small holes & striking a fero rod,but I'm a little curious about the hole in it that's supposed to be used for sewing.
The corkscrew is real useful for picking tight knots apart & the saws on these things are fantastic!!!
Victorinox even makes a model or two with pliers.
Some models come with either a liner lock or a side lock for the main blade/large screwdriver.
I carry the Hunter model mostly, even though I don't hunt anymore.
It has a good combination of tools that I find useful.
So.....What's your favorite SAK?
Cliff

Leatherman's are good stuff!
I have a Micra-Wave-Kick & a PSK.
I guess the same question would apply for those as well.
Favorite model/features on each?

I love my Leatherman Wave, but I would like to have a SAK, too. Just never got around to buying one.
I like the saws and knives the best.

Anything with a wood saw is good. Mine looks a lot like the red one in the second photo, except mine also has a corkscrew. I've had it for over 15 years I guess. If I was looking for one today I would have to spend some time checking out what features are available. That black one looks good.

You won't regret getting that Wave, linsleyk.
You should invest in a good SAK, too.
The more the merrier.
