If it isn't damaged too badly by the amount of snow that fell this year, most likely. It's 8:20 and turning dark.. maybe I should go again. Razz

This summer since I can only go to certain areas I'll be making a permanent camp including a natural shelter. It's going to be big and elaborate, because what else are you gonna do. Razz I'll be sure to post pictures when I make it. Cool

I started on a small half-dome shelter this weekend using only what I could find around me and my multitool. Cool

Spruce roots would have been a major advantage, but the ridges around here were clear cut many years ago by the Forest Service. For me that means no spruce. Sad They grow down deep in the the hollers, but I didn't have time to go hunt for some. I only had a couple hours, so I didn't get very far. Smile

I go back and finish it next chance I get. Very Happy

In case anybody wants some closure on that shelter- R.I.P.. The roof partially caved in from the 3-4 feet deep snow melting towards spring. Another may be in the works and the key words are remote and structurally sound

If I woulda finished it before winter..
Laziness and inconsistencies make a shelter with potential a failure! Razz

That's a beautiful sunrise pic. Surprised

You should submit it to a photo contest or something. It would be a sure winner. Cool

I heard photo contests online aren't good, because they just take the winning photo from you. It gets people to compete to get their images stolen. Shocked
