That sounds like a great discovery. I just hope the talk about a mine having very little impact on the environment isn't just hollow rhetoric.
I've seen Wings Over Canada before. Even though I'm not particularly into planes, it's always interesting.

Ya its one of my favorite shows. And like all other mineing there is always some impack
But as little as possible is needed. But being a multi billion dollar maker, there is no excuse not to keep the site clean & up to enviromental standards. Im sure i'll be reading more about it in my news paper as the year goes by.

As some of you may know Canada's Forest industry has been the backbone of this country for over 120 years.
Now thats all changed so much over the last decade, pine beetle devastated millions of acres of forest. That i will never see come back.
And the thousands of people who lost jobs they had for 40 years, gone. Its brutal really.
So the next wave to sustain Canada is going to be Mining, its all the rage the last 4 years. There are already Billions of dollars being spent in further research, and dozens of small camps already set up all through BC & Alberta that i know of, who knows how many there are now......... But from this is going to be alot of destruction to the lands & lakes & streams.
>> Here is an small artical i got from 1 of my sites i visit often <<
STOP MINES FROM USING CANADA’S PRISTINE WATERWAYS AS WASTE DUMPS
Mining companies are discarding their toxic leftovers in our lakes right now! Tail Lake (Nunavut) and Scully-Wabush Lake (Newfoundland) have already been approved and the federal government is reviewing applications to okay 14 more.
Decisions on eight bodies of water will be made by the end of this year. Visit here for a map and list of all the mines/lakes currently under review.
Act now. Write your political representatives and tell them the use of natural, fish-bearing waters as mine dumps is not an option.
Industry had other disposal options. These lakes must not be sacrificed.
Trout Pond and Duck Pond (near Buchans, Newfoundland) were approved for destruction in this way in 2006. These lakes used to contain Atlantic salmon and brook trout and were also home to otters. They are now essentially biological dead zones.
Since then, the requests from the international mining industry to use Canadian waters for their toxic waste disposal have increased at an alarming rate. Why? Because it would save them tens of millions of dollars in operating costs over the life of their mine. Why build and maintain a tailings pond if you can simply dispose of your waste in a natural lake basin?
Let’s keep Canada’s precious water resources clean! Write to the decision makers today! Especially Stephen Harper, Fisheries Minister Loyola Hearn and Environment Minister John Baird!!
