If you were going to buy a fishing rod to add to your fishing pack which type of these two would you pick? A 3 or 4 section rod or a telescopic fishing rod?

Telescopic:

multi-section rod:

All my rods I have are multi, i like the scope better.

The multi is just annoying to the point were you dont take them apart.

All my rod's are Multi section. I have looked at a telescope rod last year, i decided to buy more Fly's & leader Line, lol.
I think i will get one though, it is really handy for the backpacking trips up to the lakes. Cool

I’ve used a telescoping rod for backpacking for years. My sectionals just don’t pack well.

I'll chime in with multi-section... I tend to be a purist and I think a rod's action/energy loads, shines and transfers well with a multi-section, whereas with telescoping I think much of the rod's action/energy is lost.

To be honest I don't really fish, I did once and I caught 3 rainbow trout. That was the only time I fished....heh heh. I was fun though

heck that is a very good first time. around here you spind hours waiting for a fish that may not ever come. of course most people here fish for catfish and they take a while to bite.

Ya, thats true, I thought the fish were really bitting that day. People in their other boats were always catching fish.

Neither for me. I will just make a fishing rod out of some wood (less to pack that way) and take just the other things you use to fish with.
