1) One gallons of water. (or however much I can fit in the pack)
I was surprised only one person said water and they are only taking one litre. A few people did say they would take a water filter. But then you still have to find water. With a gallon, I could last a few days hiking if neccessary. then I would need more.
2) Mora Knife (swedishknives.com)
3) poncho
For shelter and warmth
4) spark rod (for starting fires)
5) jacket and warm hat
By the way, I would be on my mountain bike if possible in order to get out of there faster. And I would consider staying at home because I have plenty of water and food stored up. It would really depend on the situation. There's a lot of factors. If there is a lot of snow, then I've got plenty of clean water.
Has anybody ready Cody Lundin's new book, When All Hell Breaks Loose? I just got it and I have barely started reading it. Maybe this needs another topic if anyone actually has read it.
