Hello
My name's Ralph if you couldnt tell. I'm 22 years old and new to this kind of stuff. Les has taken my want and need for the wilderness to a new level so i decided i am going to try to be a Hiker/Survivalist.
I've been Slowly ordering Stuff for Hiking because i plan on going on a weekend hike in september for a thurs through sun trip( hey i may not come back)
Im from Massachusetts and i want to go to NH,VT, or Maine for my hike.
I have no idea where to go because i want to go hike around 5 miles to a Lake and Camp there.
Anyone from Near me can Reccomend a Nice Place to go?
thanks.
Ill post my List of Stuff Im getting later on today so you guys can give your opinions

Welcome to the forum, Ralph! Very Happy

Feel free to make yourself at home. Cool

We will be glad to help you prepare for your trip. There's a lot of smart people here. Smile

Brian probably knows more about that area than any of us, so he'll be the one to talk to about locations, most likely. Cool

I'm from VT originally (see sig). I suggest Smuggler's Notch for a nice hike, it's in the Stowe area. Part of the Long Trail runs through there too. There's a pond at the top too.

I heard my name Laughing We as for up north of me I am not too sure actually. I have done some research into it but never really had the opportunity to camp in any of those states. I know some great places in New York, in the Adirondack Mountains. I know some people who are from or visit those areas though, I will see if I can get in touch with them and find out some good spots. I am sure someone else knows of this region aside from me, hopefully they will stop by Very Happy Again welcome to the site, hope we provide you with what you are looking for Very Happy

I should also mention, any hike in the White Mountains (NH) is well worth it. Plus, North Conway is a nice little town.

I pretty much just want to End Up at a Pond Or Lake, and Camp Out there. for 3 nights/ 4 days.
I Checked out that Coghlans Site that TrooperMax was posting about and I ordered a Few things.
I Got my Charge TTI Yesterday and a 5500 CI Hiking Backpack Made by Kemyer.
I liked the Pack So I ordered it.
