ok wrote all the measurements down going to cut up some squares.I think thats the easy part

Just make some big tweezers like Bear Grylls did.

I actually used some grill tongs, but I melted the plasic on the handle.

Uhhh...linsleyk, perhaps you should be more careful than MS is.
Exploding the can, melting the tongs....you know, you're not setting a good example.

well I cut 2 squares of clothes last nite. and a little nervous about charing it.maybe this week hopefully

It's a good idea to do a small test batch of 1 or 2 pieces first. That way you get a feel for what has to take place to char it without screwing up and wasting a bunch of cloth. 
Once you do a test batch you'll have a sudden urge to make more. Give in to the urge!
Hope all goes well.
By the way, what kind of tin are you using?
