I don't think I'm going to use this shelter for backpacking, because ditching the tarp will free up some weight. Instead I have a GI poncho, and I'll either use it like a bivy or string it up. That is If I don't make a really cool natural shelter. |
I lied I like my tarp too. My GI poncho is just a little too small for me as a shelter of its own. I'm 6'3" so I don't fit in small things. I think I'll go for comfort in camp instead of comfort on the trail. I'll still try to be light, but I don't want to sacrifice good things. The GI poncho will still be my ground cloth.

Ya but it takes some work. I would just open microsoft word and copy the first paragraph, then past (highlight>rightclick>copy) then go to word, right click paste on a new page. Then you do the same with the picture, you can copy and paste it. If its too big you can resize it by dragging.

Or you could try to visualize it at home. Just follow it step by step and act it out with your invisible tarp shelter. It may work for you.

Thats true; however, that may not work for everyone. For me what really works is getting out there and doing it. I find I learn a lot when i'm outthere from myself.
My advice is be creative, or at least try to be. Think outside of the box. Look at your suplies and just play around with things.
