We're adding to our family soon |
|
No, I'm not pregnant, but we are adding to our family in a month! We're adopting a male Alaskan Malamute puppy in four weeks.
Last night we went to the breeder (who only lives about a half hour from us) and visited. She and hit it off GREAT, she actually asked me if I'd want to show him later on this summer. I think we could become friends actually.
Anyway, we haven't picked a puppy yet, she's going to help with that in two weeks when their personalities are developed, but here they are (2 weeks old):
Five boys on the left, three girls.

Don't tempt me...but he should be anywhere between 100-125 full grown, that's enough dog for anyone.

Yeah, I can't wait. As in...last night I couldn't fall asleep and was up at five thinking about it. LOL Yeah, I need a life.
We're going to train him to pull a sled and fun stuff like that. Plus, they're great for hiking and can carry a lot, so that's always good for extra water/food/supplies.
Hey Troop, I was in your neck of the woods today actaully. We bought a dog crate off some guy on Cote Royal in Orleans.

Yeah, I'm done with winter this year...it's warmed up enough to start melting, but now it's all ice from how cold it's been. At least the sun is out later, that feels very good.

Have you thought of names yet?
Maybe you could name one after one of the dogs Les used in Labrador.

We did pick out a name, Strider. Yeah, we're a couple of geeks but it really fits. The breeder loved it.

I've waited ten years for one...never lived in a place big enough, moved around too much, did the apartment thing. This has been a looooong time coming for me.

I remember when my dog was a cute little puppy. They grow up extremely fast. After a month it'll be getting bigger. Now my dog is really big.
