here is the start of my bow i am making out of birch. im not sure if im going to just try it as is when its done or if im going to maybe make it a bit thinner and use this piece as a backing for another birch piece but i was told birch is strong enough that it doesnt need a backing but we will see.anyway here is a pic of it started using my T2 Tracker knife for splitting, keep in mind i am using a camera phone for the pic Smile i have one side almost half done now its looking good so far Very Happy

i was out working on it for a bit today now i have all for sides squared but some of the bark is still on it and i have to do some touch ups to make it more square and even and get the rest of the bark off ill post pics up later i will take my camera out and take some fast pics. and i am doing all this with my T2 Tracker Smile

also this is just my practice bow sort of thing im just practicing my bow making skills so what im doing is making a bow out of this piece of birch and if it works great then awesome but i want to make at least one more bow after this one before i get to my main piece of birch so that i have already made the mistakes i would normally make and learn from them
