I hunt in northern michigan, and with firearm and blackpowder season, we have a little over 3 weeks for rifle season.
I hunted all season with a TC 50cal Hawken. I shot at a big buck but I missed. Don't know how it happened since he was only 50 yards away. I did manage to shoot a spike(which looked like a doe with one tine missing) and 2 yearling does. The hair on the does was about 2 inches thick which made them look bigger than what they really were. Imagine my dissappointment when I skinned them. "Oh, I shot a dog." In retrospect it was a good thing I shot them because we have had a hard winter and we are having some dieoff.

How did it go for you?
