This is the site for the Bureau of Land Management. On the left side of the homepage is a link that says "Programs"l. Under that link is "recreation." People sometimes forget that the national parks aren't the only public land you can enjoy.

I dont even think the BLM is in New York State, we have the DEC (Department of Environmental Conservation). But I do know about the BLM because for 2 years I was in college as an environmental major and considered working for a state or federal organization such as those.
