1" of flint rod, straigh off a mag bar, now I have 2 mag bars with new flint, time to get a new one.

Here is the whole neck setup

Yup, I made 2 but just broke one Sad I am thinking about mass produceing these and selling them, what do you think of that? What do you think for a price?

You could make a few and see how it goes. For the price I would say $15 to $20 Very Happy

Wow i'm impressed very well done, musta been hard to drill that hole in such an awkward object.

Thanks turd, that was around the price I was thinking, I just need to find a decent supplier of flint rods. These are mag bar flint rods broke in half. So there is only 1 inch of flint here. I don't know if I should put the whole three inches in so there would be 2 1/2 inches of striking material, because It might be a little too breakable, I don't know, maybe I just need a different type of thickness for it.

Max, it wasn't too hard to get the top hole as I cut that off with a hacksaw and it was nice and flat. So I just started drilling slowly and then sped up once a divet formed. On the other hand, I had lots of problems with the cordage hole until I wised up and used a smaller drillbit and made a small hole first and then used the larger one from there.

Now I can't take the credit for this idea, Normark sent me one like this that gave me the idea.

Ah thats cool, yes drilling holes i harder in hard surfaces obviously. Its getting it started. Normally I would use a center punch, then a small drill bit, then large. But I dont see anyone using a punch on a bone it would just break, so it musta been tricky
