I think they tend to be very short though...and the metal striker is a PIA ifI remember correctly. If you have a knife, there is no need for the striker.

I had one at some point...maybe it was just too fun to make sparks with when I was little and that's why it didn't seem to last very long

Wow that's the cheapest I've seen one of those in a long time! It's always been cheaper for me to just buy the swedish fire steel.
