Although there is no set date for season 2, it will likely air in early 2007

The sooner the better! Les started this "survival craze" but he is not riding the wave: He needs to stay in the forefront as much as possible. The urban survival special helped, but we need to see more Les! Crying or Very sad

I, too, am really looking forward to the new season. Especially the East Africa episodes. I was there a few years ago. (That's where I took the photo in my avatar.) It's the trip of a lifetime, and you become absolutely enthralled with the region. It could be a tough survival location, though. Step out of the vehicle in many areas and you're just a slow moving source of protein.
I taped all the season 1 episodes and have seen them multuple times, yet every time I come across an episode on tv I still watch it again. I'm sure season 2 will be the same! Very Happy

Hello all!

It is with great excitement that I finally send out a current newsletter.

Survivorman is back in action! In just under one week I will be flying to the Amazon jungle in Ecuador to do the first shoot of the new season. It has taken quite a while to get to this stage but I, along with my production partner Dave Brady and our production team are thrilled to be in the middle of a ridiculously hectic schedule right now, ramping up the activities for Survivorman.

And d! on’t worry – same set up – just me – alone with only my camera gear. But the locations have become a bit more exotic. Along with the Amazon – I am expecting to go to the Australian Outback, the African desert – the African bushland, the Alaskan coast and the rough scoured rock of northern Labrador.

One extra we are hoping to include this time, will be my live journal updates to a blog from location so you can follow my progress as it happens!

I have been overwhelmed by the support and encouragement from viewers throughout the world. I have emails from Russia, Hungary, UK….all over! So stay tuned…log onto my website at www.lesstroudonline.com - first show should be on air late February 2007. Don’t forget you can get ready for the new season by ordering a copy of the entire first season of Survivorman through my web site.

Watch OLN in Canada this November 28th at 8PM for my ninety minute special; Off The Grid with Les Stroud! . It follows our trials of becoming a family dedicated to self! suffici ency with a love for a life close to nature.

And finally – the Northern Pikes and I are finished recording a debut CD under the name; Stroud and the Pikes. We hope to get that available as downloads asap.

Take care and stay tuned for the live Survivorman blog!

Les

Thanks for passing that along, CedroneS Very Happy
I was wondering how all the season 2 episodes were going to be completed in time for a mid-winter air date. Les should tape a show on how to survive a brutal schedule of flights, paperwork, local connections & support, etc. Stay healthy, Les!

Very Happy Yeah, I just got the e-mail update, too! I'm looking forward to the African episodes especially. I've always wanted to go to Africa and do a 'photo' safari, and I especially want to see the Serengetti (sp?). I'll just have to live vicariously through Les.

Does anyone know if the discovery channel will actually air full hour long episodes in the states? I sureley hope so, since I can't get the science channel.

I'm pretty sure they will.

Survivorman got very high ratings so once something fresh comes out it should air the full duration.

By the end they did the half hour thing just to keep people's intrest.
