Rabbit starvation

"If you catch food (like a rabbit) eat everything except the entrails. Since there is no fat on the rabbit, your body will get protein poisoning (or Rabbit starvation), which leads to diarrhea."

According to wiki, this is the advice Les gave. I could have sworn he said people get protein poisoning because they DID eat everything except in entrails.... Maybe I heard him wrong, but I thought his advice was the eat the entails to avoid PP. Does anyone else remember what he said?

He said people get protein poisioning becuase they don't contiune to eat the brain and the bones etc.

Actually, the Wiki and Les said the same thing. Entrails refers to the intestines and stomach and such. In the Canyonland episode (in reference to the squirrel), Les says, "What I'm NOT going to eat is the entrails.. being the intestines and such.. but the heart, the kidney, the liver are all good stuff to eat."

From this, we can deduce that entrails are separate from the "good-to-eat" organs. So yes, you're not supposed to eat the rabbit's entrails, but rabbit starvation occurs when people fail to eat the organs as well as the meat. As long as you eat the heart, brain, kidneys, etc. you should be fine.
