I think the book is called Blue Mountain Buck skinning, that is a book I found very useful. It can be ordered from this site as well as a lot of other good books http://abotech.com/Abomart/Abomart.htm lots o books. Trying to explain tanning is kinda tricky and I feel that with a book that has pictures, you may get a better idea of how to do it

Thanks! I'll have too look into those books! I have a neighbor who catches stuff and just gets rid of them because they are pests at the local historical society. So I could skin and tan them but dont want to try until I know what I'm doing! Also I dont want to try dead falls and such until I know how to do this also!

for tanning you will prob find out that you can use the brain of the animal to tan the hide but if you are just getting the pelt and not the hide you can also use eggs to tan it but if you can get the brain it would prob be better.

I recommend buying this book.
I have one myself and it has a wealth of info on tanning.
