Always wondered that myself, it is in the Urban Dictionary, but it isn't a real word
Why is it a woodchuck when it lives in grassy areas?

If there is no open season for bear in Alabama, why are they listed as game animals? 
Obviously the population isn't very high, but then why not consider them non-game?

Why do people say they want a cordless screwdriver? I have dozens of screwdrivers and not one of them has a cord. In fact, I don't think I have ever seen a screwdriver with a cord.
Ironically, the cordless screwdrivers are the only ones that have a cord: on the charging unit.

What happens in the above case is that the timeline where grandpa is sterile, you then don't exist. You do however continue to exist in the original timeline where you didn't do the sterilization. You killed yourself in the other timeline. Every subatomic "decision" creates an entirely new universe, beginning at the big bang.

I don't know what level of infinity that number of universes is, but the mind that can watch every one to the smallest detail....is what I conceive of "God". Free will, and predestination.
