I got a new gun! Remington 700 .300 Win Mag |
|
I was given a new gun today a Remington 700 .300 Winchester Magnum with a 4-12 Scope and leather strap. It's a really nice big game rifle and I think the .300 Win Mag is a great shell. Does anyone have any experience with this shell, or rifle?

A friend of mine has a .300 win mag in a browning BLR. He loves it and has drop'd deer in their tracks with it. It is a gret shell for medium-large game. The cost of shells isn't too bad either. Good choise if you are a big game hunter that wants a lot of knock down power.

Wow! Nice gift! Please take very good care of that one!
I've fired the 700 a few times before, an old friend's rifle, but it's been a awhile. I recall very good accuracy, and nice recoil from the 700... and I believe it was in .300 Win Mag but can't remember for sure.
Anyway, please give us your range/hunting report after you've had some time with it!

Very cool The Rem 700 is a very well built platform to build off of. I like the location of the saftey the most, but it's hard to find anything to complain about with something like that!

ColdSoul,
Wanted to let you know that in the latest issue of Outdoor Life magazine, they listed what they consider the 25 best deer rifles of all time.
Your Remington 700 is in the list.
