I think there is two in that photo, but I'll have to go back and look at it again. But I know there is atleast one in there. I have a 1934 M91-30 hex reciever that is an absolute tack driver, and a shorty M44 from 1944. Both are from the Izhevsk factory. The M91-30 was my first and I didn't understand what I had. So when it was giving me light primer strikes I returned it. But that same night I found out that maybe I should hold on to it, so I had to go back to the store and convince them to sell me the "unsafe" gun that wouldn't shoot. I adjusted the firing pin, and now I love it. The M44 was in a crate of about 20 others and I was there when the crate was opened. I picked the runt, because it has a lot of strange carvings on it. There is a single nail through the stock for no good reason, "M M" has been carved on it a couple times, a "T" is carved into it, and a triange. It "spoke" to me so I bought it. It too is a great little rifle, and is also very accurate.
Good eye.

I envy you! lol. I really need to get pics of my guns up here. Perhaps tomorrow.
Ive been thinking about getting the Mauser K98k.
The only thing im worried about is the dreaded rare and expensive 8mm ammo.
I guess i could always get the tanker model in either .30-06 Springfield, .308 Winchester
.270 Winchester & .243 Winchester.
What are your opinions?

Personally I would like to have the original thing. Mitchell’s Mausers are very well respected for their work on these guns, and all they seems to produce to amaze everyone. 8mm isn't all that hard to find anymore. I know WOLF was making for a while, and as far as I know they still are. If you don't mind ordering online you can ussually get a good deal on it. I still want one of those, as well as an M1, and a K31. That's all I need to complete the major players in WWII (I consider the swiss and swedes a major player. )

Yeah the legendary M1 Garand. They are about $700+ for them now. But if you shoot so many matches and fill out the paper work you can get one through the CMP for about $300 or so for a bottom of the shelf one. I need one badly!!!!

Depends... what are your intentions?
Just my own .02 cents worth, but don't always go for power... what matters is that you can place your shots where you want them, and accuracy is far more important than power. What that means is that you are comfortable with the particular semi-auto and caliber, and a good one that matches with you well, literally becomes an extension of your arm and hand. I just don't know any other way to describe it.
But don't assume size or caliber means a better handgun. Personally, I'm much better suited to 9mm, and that's what I use for target and defensive-pistol matches. There simply is no "best", it's too personal, and it's all about which sidearm you feel most comfortable with, and can handle the best with good accuracy, with your own personal style and ergonomics. For some it's going to be a 1911 (classic .45 ACP) and for others it's going to be a .38 revolver.
Personally, you won't ever see me shoot a Desert Eagle... we're not well-matched.

Good attitude... honestly I would rather a person not like them, and in that way develop respect for firearms... rather than someone who thought they were toys and wants to 'play' with them.
Firearms are tools, and in good, respectful hands, they can be useful for hunting, fun for target/match-shooting, and sometimes life-saving. But definitely, training and deep respect for them is required.
I can't believe I'm "soap-boxing" and proselytizing about guns! Where's Azarcher when I need him!

Thats happening all too much. I grew up with guns, to be honest knowing how to handle them, and use them befor the age of ten was a great learning experience. Having family and others understanding them and not think of them like a toy as you said is a great feat in its own.
Alot of kids take their dads guns thinking, well to be honest I dont know what their thinking. But what I thought growing up is that they were a tool, and their was a time and place to use them, I respected them.
Plus I knew if my dad found out I had them he would have been wipen' me the rest of my life, and neither of us would have like that!

You can also find Mausers from other suppliers, rifles that won't look as good as the Mitchell's Mausers, may not have matching serial numbers, etc, but will shoot as well. There are even some Spanish and Argentine Mausers floating around that are chambered for .308Win/7.62x51. The prices I've seen for wholesale on some Yugoslavian Mausers (8mm) started around $99.99 for a shooter's grade, $149.99 for one in 'excellent' condition. I've been wanting one for awhile, so when the ol' tax returns roll around, I may get one of those or a Mosin-Nagant. We'll see.
As a side note, I just swapped off my Colt Single Action Army in .45 Colt (third generation, from about 1977) to a brand new Bushmaster Arms Patrolman flat-top (AR-15). Considering that I only had about $300.00 in the Colt and the Bushmaster retails for over $1200.00, I think I got a good deal (I traded even!). I will miss the Colt except when I see the prices on Colt .45 ammo. The new Bushmaster has the quad-rail fore arm, so I plan on mounting a vertical grip/combat light combo, and probably a laser. I already have my eyes on a good red-dot sight for that flat-top.

I'll get those pics on when I get everything installed. I'll have to wait longer than I had hoped, the car is sick, and the tow bill itself was $125.00. That would have easily paid for a good combat light and mount, and maybe the laser as well.

Still haven't gotten the Bushmaster's accessories yet, but I'm considering either and EOTech 512 holosight or a Leatherwood 50mm red dot. I also want to mount a light, forward pistol grip (maybe a light/grip combo), and MAYBE a laser later on.
Here's another interesting rifle I'm wanting:

I'm having a hard time believing they made another "Rambo" movie! How old is Stallone now, anyway?
