I wonder how well they work and how long do you have to leave it in the sun?

I would like to see how to do this without this expensive tourist type device.
any better suggestion?

You can toss some green leaves (no poison contents. ) into a 5 gallon bottle and let it sit in the sun for a while. You won't get a whole lot of water, but with a couple packed full of leaves and such you will get a good drink a couple times a day. Or if you are stranded in one place, making four or five solar stills in the ground will serve you well.
As for this product. I think it would be pretty cool. It's kind of large for my taste, but I bet they will make smaller ones later.
