Strange, Overkill but Interesting! |
|
This thread is dedicated to the "Frankenstein's monster" of knives, axes, machetes and whatever other bladed tools or weapons you happen to come across. Let's see'em.
Ps... It is not our place to judge other peoples choices in tools here.... well, maybe just a little but be considerate.
Rick
Here's an ugly lookin axe that caught my eye... I think the only place left for an edge is the handle!
And of course... the Brownie chopper... I was using this beast for some time before giving up on it.

If that first axe didn't look so ridiculous and had a flat back, it would probably make the perfect survival hatchet.

The reason I stopped carrying it was simply because it didn't suit my style... I always have my knife on me for walks, camping, working in the yard... you name it. The Tracker knife can do many, many things but doesn't lend itself well to the smaller tasks I do everyday. My alternative would have been strapping it to my pack but I prefer to have an axe for that. i guess it was just over-qualified for what I needed from a knife... much the same as that funky axe would be... but that's just my taste.

Isn't that the paratrax bowie? I haven't seen one with a wooden handle... a bit too angular for me.... maybe if I were a Klingon... just kidding... not really, though.
We have to keep in mind that just because somebody rips on a tool you honestly like, doesn't mean it's a bad tool. You only need to justfy your choices to yourself... and maybe your wife.

It says it's Paratrax from the place it was ordered from so I guess so.
I haven't gotten to use it yet, an since I don't have any fixed bladed knifes besides my 2 machetes I like it. I will let everyone know how it does in the field after my trip.
And since I don't have a wife I am not answering to one regarding my purchases

Lucky..... >says Askdamice in a Napoleon Dynamite type voice<
Let us know how she handles for ya. My concerns are the hidden knife coming loose and the versitility of the angular blade... put it through the paces, ColdSoul.

AHHHH KNIFENSTEIN'S MONSTER!!!!
You've posted this before... I remember seeing it either on this forum or another. I like it alot. There is something about it that screams to be used. Good job.
Was it cut from an old kitchen knife?

Thanks, And yes I've posted it on another forum. I cut it out of an old butcher knife.
