Thanks, Az... The rock is a type of flint... it was given to me by my friend, Bow.

Finally got around to doing a few things for myself. A firepouch, a possibles bag, a hawk sheath and a I'm in the process of a new knife.
Rick

I'm excited about this knife. Because of the leaf-shaped blade, it has a little meat to it and is a good chopper. The blade is differentially heat treated. The edge is hard along with the face of the spine(to use as a flint striker)... while the body and handle are softer to allow for flex, making it very strong. Woo-hoo!

And a pic of my helper, Magnus.

I'm going to use stabilized birch burl for the handle scales ... it kinda looks like cork.

Excellent work man, I've said it before and I'll say it again, you've got to be the most skillful and knowledgeable dude on the forums. Any chance you have any Indian blood? Cool Laughing

Yes, I keep a vile of it in the medicine cabinet.... lol.

Seriously though... I have no outstanding skill... I just like learning everything about the things I enjoy doing and make a point of trying out the great ideas I've either learned from those around me or read about. Almost anyone could make this stuff... but most would rather not take time away from the things they enjoy to sit and practice... hopefully I can provide for those who haven't the time and make a living in the process. Soon I will start selling stuff on the Buy/Sell/Trade section here.
Rick
