Oh man, just watched it. This is definitely my favourite Survivorman episode to date. I absolutely love the Amazon. I'm in the Vancouver area, and we have an aquarium with a large section dedicated to amazon ecology, it's always been my favourite place. The bugs were insane, the proximity to hostile natives was cool too. I love it when Les goes crazy halfway through the episode, it's happened a few times before when he gets a little silly. This time I say he lost it when he started talking to the shrimp - "you're going to get chewed right away. yes you!"
As for the jag stuff... wow, intense. It wouldn't bother me at all if the noises were fake, and in fact I even suspect he plays up the drama both in his own actions and with the editing in post production. It is a tv show after all, it has the illusion of being 100% real and unedited but there's no way that's true. It is certainly the most "real" survival show I know of, and I don't think it's dishonest of Les at all to use the same sound and video editing tools that any other show would use to make an entertaining and polished product. The important thing is the content, and I do believe he is out there filming by himself and he stays true to the situation. Can't wait for the next ep, keep up the great work Les!

Well, finally got to see this episode .
And in all, it was good. It had a good kind'a creepy factor to it with the cats & maunya ant < i know i spelt that wrong.
And the 70 tribs in the area that sounded like they were not to friendly. It would be really freaky to have a trid chase you in the jungle & hunt you down & kill you that alone is a huge stress factor. Getting speard would " not " be fun.
Les did seem out of his zone, not sure what to make of it kinda thing. He still did good in that jungle but it was like he wanted it to end alittle sooner than 7 days. But ! it was good, i liked it, nice to see the new stuff on T.V

It seemed like a real long wait for a new episode, and it didn't disappoint! What a steep learning curve for Amazon survival. Who would have thought that it would be so hard to catch a fish in a rainforest river. Or that frogs, bats, otters and stingrays would be among the big hazards. There were insects everwhere.
Easily one of the very best episodes.
Fans of LOST will remember John Locke seeing a film and saying "We're going to have to watch this again." That's what came to mind at the end of this Survivorman episode.
