Anyone know of a way to save the videos from you tube or ripp them? If so what program??

Yep...
Load the YouTube video you want to download (it seems the video needs to be "active" to be downloaded, atleast for me).
Go to http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php and click the side select to YouTube
Click the new link that pops up below (right click) and click save as
Rename the file to the name you want and add .FLV at the end for it's extension
Play the video in Media Player Classic or some other FLV player.
