Off The Grid Talk

So now that it is out, what did you think?

I personally lived it very much because I am big into solar, wind power etc.

It was well made, lots of "Survivorman" style camera work, and a number of Survivorman songs during it.

All in all I would give it 8.5/10

Lost 1 for prematurely finishing, it was just getting really good.

Lost .5 for jumping all over the place too much, little hard to follow at time.

But it was great all in all, very well done!

The question is, after watching it, do you feel confident that, with the money and supplies, you could live off the grid?

I thought it was well done. Very cool.
Im interested in what's at the bottom of that small pond he said there was a body size black bag at the bottom.
As for a 1 out of 10 liking for the show, i'll give it a 9.
I thought for the time slot he had, he covered it well. It would be cool if he does a follow up late next year on the progress
they have made towards Living off the grid. Cool

I enjoyed it and would like to see a follow up show to see what it was like once everything was up & running and they had settled in. One of the lessons I came away with was don't start something like this in the fall.
That outhouse was so cool! Very Happy

The whole idea was great but a follow up would be great as you said. It was just all settled in I wanted to see how it all works. What works , what doesent. etc.

I would like to know this so that I do not make any of the same mistakes.

it was on again today but i had to work, Sad

It would be nice if Les could have a bunch of Off the grid shows like he has for survivorman.
As some one who would like to go off the grid I was hopping to find out more information.
He never did say how the rain water catchment system will work. He said that it would have to wait because of the budget but I was hopping he would at least explain how it worked
I enjoyed the show and hope he will do more. At least a follow up show, to show what worked, what didn't and what changes had to be made.

im pretty use to the excitement of the Les in the survivorman series, so to me this "Off the Grid" living is a great idea but made for a pretty boaring show. maybe if it was a 30 min special i would if liked it better, since the last 10 mins were great and the rest was pretty slow and redundant. (a lot of commentary from his wife and kids got old fast, lol).

i hope im not frowned upon for not loving and praising everything Les puts out there. survivorman season 2 will start hopefully soon, then we can see Les at his best again.

Its understandable, so I have no problem with opinion. I loved it because this is a step I wish the world would take. More efficent, clean etc. Its also good to have control over your own life, I would much rather have my own power and water, and no have to pay bills, costs that are pointless and whatnot. I thought it was great, since its very much how I may want to live one day.

It's not climbing the mountain to get to the top; it's climbing the mountain to enjoy the climb.

I thought it was great, though in my opinion he installed alot of unecessary things.. I guess thats because he wants to make his wife & kids comfortable.. But a stove in the outhouse!? Thats a waste of firewood for something that's only going to be used a few times a day.

Really interesting program, I've watched it a dozen times so far.

I just seen it on youtube for all of you that haven't just go there and search survivorman off the grid. I thought it was interesting. I've often thought of doing the very same thing in a semi-rural setting and selling my excess back to the electric company. Does someone know if Les still lives there? Oh they do have the first episode of the second season as well. I was out of town camping and fishing in Montana and missed the premier.

When is the second Off The Grid show going to air?
