Sounds like a good survival item.

The FAQ says not for anything over 2 lbs. So, small panfish should be O.K., as long as they're not fighting too much.

In a survival situation it sounds like it would be good to have in your kit. I just wouldn't use it routinely for fishing.
And don't expect to take a running salmon with it. Wink

My survival kit has some line, 4 hooks, a sinker, and an artificial worm. This might be a practical - though pricier - alternative. I know of a store that sells all this "As Seen On TV" stuff. Maybe I'll go take a look at it.

yes i'm just not sure if you can get the torque you need to pull out a fish, some fish are heavy and even with a well built rod its a challenge.

Ya, i would would treat this rod like a Fly rod when fishing. Play the fish alot more so theres not so much stress
on the rod. I have a 9' 6 weight fly rod & have caught 10lb salmon, you just dont rip it home or you lose it.
You have to have finesse & play the fish alittle more. Cool

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen! Laughing
It might be good for catching minnows. Laughing

To me, not worth the money. Smile

Not to mention this:

That's bigger than a pen. Wink

Yeah, I agree, total waste of money. That thing isn't worth 40 bucks, and I can tell you they don't have that much into materials or workmanship into it Razz
