Hey Guys...
SK...

They are probably $70-90

I wouldn't suggest for you to carry one though....

You are in a unique position.. you could carry a basball bat down the street and not have a problem.. Anyone asks..

I'm going to my friend's to play B-ball Smile

An adult walking down the street with a Louisville Slugger is going to get stopped

Well we are here to protect you, but we are never next to you when you need it, so be able to defend yourself.

Another good tip to remember, a lot of cell phones have the number nine programmed to call 911 when it's held. If you EVER have to use a gun, knife, batton, anything to defend yourself, and you are able to foresee it's about to happen (IE walking to your car and see two guys walk out of the shadows towards you) pull the cell out, hold nine for a couple seconds, and put it back in your pocket. Now when you begin the fight make sure you are yelling! Yell whatever you want to scream "STOP! HELP! GET BACK!" This will do towo things, first you now have a whitness in your pocket, that will be recorded, and will be used in court to show you were fearing for your life and why the bad guy is missing a few facial features, it will also begin a unit rolling towards your location. The yelling will alert others around you that something is going on. A VERY effective thing to yell is "FIRE!" It may seem stupid to yell, but people have been studied and it showed that they will respond to a fire to help more than if you yell rape, or anything else like that.

I also agree with Normark with the Fox Labs OC spray. Cool That is the only brand I'll buy to carry while working and even when I'm not. It is the hottest spray they make, and it is very easy to see why, the non dyed (What I have to carry) is very easily seen as more red/orange than most of the other brands. I've been hit with a few different kinds more than a few times, and with Fox Labs twice. I'm sold on Fox Labs Stream. I like the Stream more than the Foam, and the "cone/fogger" type because the stream has more range, and gets in the mouth, and in the eyes even when they are closed. The Foam is cool, but it goes everywhere and evertime I use it, I get it all over my own hands, it has no range, and is really overboard I think. You don't ever want to rub it, because you are rubbing the OC into your pores making it more intense, and harder to cool. The foam pretty much has to be rubbed to get off. The Fogger is a cool idea, but it's so fine that you have no range again, and any slight breeze and it's back in your face too. Mad

But back to the topic at hand. If you want to carry a baton, go for it. It's up to you, who are we to say what to carry and what not to. Personally I have began carrying my mini batton when I'm hiking as well as a 4oz can of OC. We had a guy who was attacked by a dog, and fought it off, then the owner came at him with a screw driver (this is all out miles from a road on a hiking trail) the guy who was under attack drew his pistol, and shot the man four times. He is now in prison for life because of this. It was his word against the family, and the lawyer and he lost because of the old "He would never do that, he was a loving man" scapegoat. That has made me begin thinking about having to use my sidearm on the trail to defend myself.

Good thing to know, Azarcher.
I didn't know about the cellphone 911, and yelling to make a recording is a smart idea to establish self-defense, and also hopefully prevent a criminal from suing a victim for the criminal's injuries (happens more often than people might think, especially when it's only word-against-word). I'm going to check to make sure my cellphone has the 911 feature.

I guess I should make it clear to NOT close the phone, or other wise hang it up. Laughing Many of todays phones are equipped with a GPS type of system in it to track calls. Even if you turn the option off, 911 will still be able to locate you. I remember a story through our training of a lady who was kidnapped. She called 911, and put the phone back into her pocket. She then started to plea with her captures. She was saying things like "Sir, why are you kidnapping me is this late model red cavalier?" Sir, please, stop this red cavalier at that circle K on the north side of the street on washington and lindsy." The operator picked up on what she was saying and passed the info onto the officers. A very smart lady!

I'm just glad I live here and not England. There you have no right to defend yourself. Pretty much all guns were banned so people started carrying knives to protect themselves. Their government says noone has a legitimate reason to carry a knife for self-protection. The local governments and police departments then had the stupid idea of having a knife buyback program to get knives off the street. Anyone in this website could make a knife in a couple of hours. Meanwhile crime there has skyrocketed. A police woman and a soccer star have been murdered with knives and the socialist/communists still won't let people defend themselves. I just don't understand it.

Can someone here help me understand why Britians won't defend themselves? Dutchman.

Collapsable Batons are great, good for dogs and such that might give you a hard time. Definatly a good thing to have when hiking, camping etc.

I have decided to pack it with me. For the little room it takes, i just have it attached to my back pack strap, handy to grab. On the other strap i have my folding Buck knife, so im good to go. Cool
